A black Labrador Retriever, by the name of John Boy, was running around the Autumn Bridge area in Wisconsin, when he caught a police officer’s eye. The police officer, Jeff Gonzalez, initially thought of the dog as a stray. When Jeff tried to call the dog, the black Lab began to approach him almost immediately.
The dog acted friendly — he barked a couple of times, and his tail wagged enthusiastically. According to Jeff, when he finally got out of the car, the dog’s demeanor slightly changed. Somehow, he sensed a bit of uneasiness from the dog — it was as if the dog wanted him to go somewhere. And when John Boy began to turn around and walk away, the kind police officer decided to follow the uneasy Lab.
The black Lab led Jeff to one of the houses within the neighborhood – presumably his owner’s. Jeff’s intuition was right all along. Indeed, something was amiss in the community. At where they stood, the officer saw an unconscious woman in her pajamas slumped in an armchair. Her lips had already turned blue. At first, Jeff thought the woman was already dead, but upon closer inspection, he began to realize that she’s still alive.
Sensing that there’s still hope for the woman to survive, the kind police officer acted immediately. He called 911 for help and rushed the old lady inside the house to warm her even for a bit. The ambulance arrived just in time, and the old lady was taken to a nearby hospital.
Thankfully, the old woman, Krystal, survived the ordeal. Krystal’s family is extremely thankful to the heroes that saved her life. They were grateful for police officer Jeff Gonzalez’s quick initiative and with John Boy’s compassion and loyalty for his owner. According to Krystal’s family, John Boy was adopted into their family after his former owners returned him three times.
