Dogs are one of the most worthy companions you could ever have. Their loyalty is without fail but here is one pooch who, despite having a pure heart, gets cruelty in return. Nevertheless, he later finds people who taught him that not all humans are bad.
When West Palm Beach & Rescue received information about a brush fire, the team quickly set out to save victims. When they arrived, a shocking scene confronted them; a mutt was left chained up to a burning tree.
The captain, Gregg Gordon hurriedly moved to free him, but even so, they worried that the dog wouldn’t survive from extreme burns. The dog was in a terrible figure.
They went to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue center for immediate treatment. They knew right then that pup they named Smokey, needed a specialist, so they took him to Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center or the JPESC.
He underwent blood transfusions, heavy bandage, and remedial baths. Smokey, gradually, showed to improve health and create a tight connection with the staffs in JPESC. The closest he got to was his veterinarian, Dr. Federico Latimer.
Dr. Latimer met with him every day.
Smokey opened up more to people as he realizes that there are kind individuals out there despite what he’s been through.
When he got well enough that he was then ready to leave the JPESC, captain Gordon volunteered to foster him until someone would give Smokey his forever home. He couldn’t leave him in a shelter to suffer alone.
After some time, they planned to revisit JPESC and Smokey couldn’t wait in excitement. The moment he sees the JPESC team, his tail wagged energetically feeling as if he’s back to where he originally belonged.
When Smokey spotted Dr. Latimer, he launched himself into the vet like a son who got reunited with his parent. Smokey knocks the vet down with licks and warmth, and it was a scene that touched many hearts.
This story is only an example of how kindness did not only help treat physical wounds but also teach a victim to trust and love again!
