There are lots of stray and homeless dogs across the country that need help. All dogs deserve a loving family, and they shouldn’t be living in animal shelters. Fortunately, there are people that help pull dogs out of shelters and foster them until they get adopted.
A woman named Noelani Guerrero is very active in fostering rescue dogs. At one point, Noelani’s family weren’t looking to bring in any more dogs to foster because they thought they already have their hands full. However, when a rescue organization called Noelani about a pregnant pit bull named April, Noelani couldn’t resist but take April in to foster.
Aside from being pregnant and almost due to give birth, April was very shy and scared of her new environment. April was also malnourished. Noelani assumed that April’s interaction with humans in the past might not have been the best, which explained her being frightened and timid around people.
April was a great mom to her puppies. All April cared about was taking care of her puppies, and she would spend a lot of time with one particular puppy named Andy. Noelani seemed to know that Andy needed extra attention. Andy had a lot of health problems as a puppy. He was in and out of the vet. Thankfully, Andy survived and was adopted into a loving forever home.
Noelani eventually won over April and helped her heal. April began trusting humans again, and all her puppies were also adopted by loving families. April became a playful dog, and she needed a forever home that will give her a lot of love and affection. That was when a couple named Vanessa and Justin Olson comes in.
Vanessa and Justin fell in love with April, but they didn’t think that they’d be able to adopt April because of how popular she became in social media. However, when they were approved to adopt April, Vanessa and Justin were so happy. Vanessa drove all the way to Fresno, California, from her home in Austin, Texas, just to pick up April and bring her back home.
April loves her new home and her new family. It did take April a couple of weeks to adjust, but she’s finally happy. Aside from loving parents, April even has a new doggie sibling and a best friend named Bessie. Here’s a heartwarming video showing how April found her forever home.
