Sometimes, a simple pat and a kind voice can lift the spirit of an injured soul. Just look at this sick and beaten dog named Holden. Despite going through such a horrific experience from his old owner, he still managed to be brave and now walks the path to a better life.
Holden’s story of miraculous recovery began when police raided a drug den of the house that belonged to the people he used to call family.
The police brought Holden to a local animal shelter in Georgia. Unfortunately for Holden, the overcrowded shelter could not admit him. They have no space for him. The starving animal ate everything his paws could find, maybe because he weighs 15 pounds less than he should. And worse still, the vets who checked on him found a 7-pound tumor inside his weak body. Which also means he had to go to a different kind of torture called the surgery.
But the staff of the shelter did not give up on Holden and instead took it to social media to publicize the ill dog’s situation to ask for help.
Everyone felt amazed how, despite all of the hardship that he faces, Holden showed positive responses towards the people who gave him kindness. The staff and the vets could not help but smile at the sweet bundle of fur whenever he wags his tail after they pet him or just by hearing a kind voice.
Releash Atlanta arranged a transfer for Holden to leave the overcrowded shelter. Melissa Lent, one of the shelter moms who foster scared dogs, temporarily kept the new dog to her home. All her family members, including other pets that she shelters, welcomed him with warmth and love. The dog responded with great enthusiasm and proved that he’s a loving dog no one could resist.
Melissa believed that this only makes the beginning of a new life for Holden, and she guaranteed that whoever takes Holden will be such a lucky pet owner, indeed.
