Some dogs have their favorite toys, and they do not want to be separated from them. For these pooches, their favorite toys serve as their security blanket, relieving them of their stress and anxiety.
Hank, a dog in Wisconsin, got adopted by The Fox Valley Humane Association of Appleton. The rescue shelter, however, ended up adopting the dog with his fuzzy friend – which was a little stuffed hippo! Could you imagine how cute that was?
Hank the dog and his toy hippo
The shelter shared a photo of Hank with his fuzzy best friend on Instagram. The caption said that Hank and his purple hippo were a bonded pair. They jokingly explained that if potential fur parents were not ready for the four-year-old chocolate Lab to come home with a fuzzy hippo, the shelter would not approve the application.
However, Hank’s fuzzy best pal had experienced a tragedy. The purple hippo was found nearly decapitated inside Hank’s kennel. No one knew what happened, but Hank seemed a little bit guilty.
In a series of funny mock investigations, the shelter tried to find out what really happened. They even enlisted the help of dogs named Chief Thomas and K9 Blue.
The two dog officers were working hard to find out if Hank was really innocent. In another set of documentation from the shelter, the fuzzy hippo met with a therapist to discuss whether or not she felt safe with Hank.
The whole investigation set-up was so funny and adorable! Eventually, it was determined that Hank was innocent.
Hank got his own family
The Fox Valley Humane Association revealed that Hank had found his forever home. And his favorite toy also got to join him in his new home. It seemed that Hank would have to learn how to share his toy, as his new family also had another dog. Let’s trust that Hank would be kind and friendly enough.
