Wolves are known as bloodthirsty, flesh-eating creatures. Sounds terrible, right? Well, believe it or not, not all wolves are like that!
Apache is a wolf who is vicious and was considered as a hazardous animal. He was rescued by a guy named Matthew Simmons, one of the founders of Lockwood Animal Rescue Center (LARC). At one point in Apache’s life, he was locked in a 10 ft x10 ft cage. The flooring of the cage was made of cement. This is to prevent animals such as Apache from digging under the fence. But Apache is not much of a digger; he is more of a jumper. They had to put Apache, in an enclosure surrounded with an 8-foot fence.
Apache was also recuperating from some stitches when he had surgery previously. Once his stitches healed, the staff of LARC said he is ready to have a companion.
Two days later, Apache immediately fell in love with another wolf named Sadirah. She is also a wolf which was rescued from Portland, Oregon. Sadirah is now living her life to the fullest with the members of the LARC as well as the company of other wolves. Apache was so excited to meet Sadirah, that he jumped the 8-foot fence surrounding him!
According to Matthew Simmons, Apache used to be very vicious and terrifying the first time they met him, but once he entered the enclosure where Apache and Sadirah are being kept, I honestly thought that they are going to bite his hand off. But instead, Apache gladly wagged his tail and joyfully greeted Matthew. Matthew also stated that because of Sadirah, Apache became nicer to people and more behaved. I guess the saying, “Even the darkest of hearts could lighten up just because of an angel.” Is true, after all!
